Set within the grounds of a beautifully restored 19th-century watermill, The Wheelroom Restaurant at Hornsbury Mill offers a truly unforgettable experience. The centrepiece of the dining room is a panoramic viewing window that frames the picturesque lake and the magnificent 18-foot working waterwheel.
Inside, original elm beams and flint stone walls create a cozy yet spacious setting, tastefully complemented by soft lighting, vintage mill artefacts, and contemporary touches. Tables are thoughtfully arranged to ensure both privacy and a perfect view.
During warmer months, guests can also choose to dine al fresco on the patio, just steps from the lake. It’s a perfect spot for long lunches, lazy Sunday roasts, or a celebratory glass of wine under Somerset skies.

Hornsbury Mill has stood proudly on this site since the early 1800s, originally built as a working corn mill serving the surrounding farming communities. The Wheelroom Restaurant is small but beautifully appointed with ample space for 40 people. If you would like a private room for your dinner or party our Coachroom is perfect for up to 30 or exclusive use of our Wheelroom or Orangery can also be arranged.
